The Holidays At Our House 2010

***This Blog has been brought over from a deleted blog at wordpress*****I didn't want to delete the posts, just the, due to having one too many! Thank you!

Hello Luvs,
I'm sorry that I haven't been online in awhile and I feel so out of the loop. Well, I must say that we had a most wonderful and peaceful Thanksgiving. We don't visit any of those relatives who ignore us, speak badly of us or try to hurt us in any way. There's enough "bad" in the world without putting yourself and your family through that. I know so many people who go to their relatives because they feel obligated. Yes... we used to do that too. But you know...we just got tired of the bad feeling we'd walk away with at thinking that we went again and ruined another holiday by doing something we really didn't want to do, just so it wouldn't cause a "riff' among the families.

So now we do what we want to do. We ...neither Craig nor I have any family left anyways now so I guess it's always going to be just us: Craig, Me, Amy and Scott. We have Scott's family too if we want to be with them but we are in the just "getting to know them stage". Our families both are and have treated us without dignity and we truly now enjoy just doing our own thing for the Holidays. It makes us happy!
First of all we all watched the Detroit Macey's Thanksgiving Day parade on the tube. We always wait and wait and watch for those businessmen with briefcases!! Have you seen them? Oh they are so cool! They do routines with a suit and a brief case and something like a choreography...it's very fun to watch. They are from right around our home here in Plymouth. We always then watch for good 'ol Santa Claus to get the keys to the city from the Detroit Mayor and we know we are good for another year. As long as we get to see those two things, we've already had a great Thanksgiving! It's So calm & quiet as the house smells up with the fragrant aroma's of Turkey, dressing and all of the fixings; the scene here is tranquil and loving but most of all peaceful. *(which is my favorite part of the day...the feelings of love and being loved and peacefulness).
I sat at my computer awhile as I just went through a few emails. I took a few pictures, Amy also took a few pictures and Craig was reading his book. Amy was mostly upstairs doing some reading and homework or was she playing on facebook at her computer? Hmmmm.... I guess she's 22yrs old and I'll never know, nor do I want to know because she is in her Masters of Library Science Program at W.S.U. and has a 4.0 G.P.A. right now...so no worries in that respect either!
About 3:00pm Scott came over as his parents were going to NY this year and he had to work and stuff; so he came to have his Turkey day with us and he was very welcomed. We said our prayer first (and I got to do it this year! Woo hoo). Then we doled out the dishes and the menagerie of different foods such as: Turkey,Stuffing, gravy, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, cranberries sauce, rolls, corn, green bean casserole and then some pumpkin and apple pies for dessert! OH my gosh "mmmmmmmmm" it was the most delectable and yummy turkey this year! So moist and meaty and a whole 20lbs too! We've been eating Turkey now for about 5 days and starting just now to get a little sick of it...LOL.
So we took our usual family pictures and then we proceeded to the movie theater to see the 7th and last (but only 1st part of the last movie) "Harry Potter" movie! OH my goodness....I was on the edge of my seat from the very first moment it started and was so tensed up (but enjoying myself immensely) that everything hurt a bit more by the time that movie was done! For one thing it was about 3 hours long almost, something like that? I would say it was the best of the best of all the "Harry Potter" movies. We had a grand time and headed home after that.
Scott and Amy went over to Scotts house for awhile because we then found out later that his family ended up staying home last minute and leaving the next morning on Friday instead. Scott had already told us he was coming and we were planning on him being here, so that was really nice of him to still come. I'm thinking his family and his mom weren't so very happy about it but hey they have 4 kids and alot more people in their home to sit around the table, right? Would they really miss just one? The answer is "YES" definitely "YES"! So I felt bad when I found out but it was still a delightful day; all in all. The reason I say "YES" is because my Jessy has been gone now for gosh 7 yrs almost, I think? Yikes!!! Wow....well I miss her every minute of every day of every month of every year of every everything! My daughter is gone and I love her every day and I miss her at our table and at our Christmas mornings and things; so I know Scott was missed by his family this year but at least he loves them and they went over after the movie, that was wonderful!
Maybe I can share our Christmas "set-up" journey next time. We had another nice day doing that with the Christmas music on and the hot chocolate, just like you dream of how it would be; it was! So I'll save that for next time...Until then..thank you bloggers for following my blog and I will try to keep you interested and have it exciting and kind and fun. Sometimes there might not always be kindness and fun; but that is how life is, right? I hope you all have a wonderful week and I pray that you had a peaceful and blessed Thanksgiving too!
Did you notice I didn't mention "pain" this time? I have been put on a little higher dose of my medications and they're just taking the edge off again; but it's better than it was. I think you all know that I have "chronic intractable pain with RSD/CRPS" a Neurological most painful disease known to man rightnow! I try not to mention it here very often because frankly, people don't really want to know or hear about that for the most part. I do have a "carepage" for those of you who do want to follow along my "pain journey". It is at : www.carepages.com/carepages/suzanneshealthupdate. I hope you'll stop by and read some of it if you get the chance. You may want to start a bit at the beginning and then skip alot and move on to towards the end...LOL

Love to all, Suzanne
